The lifecycle of HikCentral Professional product is consisted of multiple stages. The availability and range of support provided by Hikvision for each stage vary. We regard the three latest major versions of HikCentral Professional as general availability versions, versions 1.7 and earlier as terminated versions, and other versions in between as limited availability versions. Please see below details.

Continued usage of terminated version incurs increasing risk of malfunction. For example, without additional cybersecurity measures, you may face security risks. To ensure normal product performance, thus uninterrupted business operation, immediate adoption of the latest available version is recommended.

The product can be upgraded for free within 36 months from the activation date. If the product has been activated for longer than 36 months, you need to purchase maintenance services to complete the upgrade. For baseline versions in use, refer to below table for the recommended version to upgrade to. You only need to run the installation package of the recommended version to complete the upgrade. The installation package of each version can be found on the official website.

Current announcement would take effect as from today, while the various paid services and support provided by Hikvision branches and partners remain in force. In case of any questions, please contact our local branches. The final interpretation of any and all policies stated herein is at the sole discretion of Hikvision.

Special Notes

1 Within 36 months from product activation, upgrades and technical support are free of charge. After 36 months, you need to purchase maintenance services to continue to enjoy upgrades and technical support services.

2 Wenn Sie eine kundenspezifische Version (Customized Version) verwenden, wenden Sie sich bitte an die örtliche Hikvision-Niederlassung, um die Durchführbarkeit des Upgrades gesondert zu prüfen. You can view the version number by clicking About in the upper right corner of the software website, and determine whether it is a baseline version by the version number naming. If the product version number naming consists of the main version number and date, it is a baseline version, such as 2.6.0.20240511; if the version number contains JKN, IPM or DZP, or ends with 50, 60, etc., it is a customized version; if you cannot determine, please contact the local Hikvision branch for assistance.

3 Taking into account the iteration cycle of technical updates and cost of compatibility testing, current strategy is to test the upgrade feasibility of 5 main versions forward, which spans about a 36 months, with the exception of versions involving major product architecture upgrade and adjustment. The software version with a change in the first digit of the version number indicates major product architecture upgrade.
