Hikvision, the world’s leading provider of innovative security products and solutions, is going on a European roadshow with to raise awareness of key cybersecurity concerns and give tips on how to combat them. The roadshow will kick off in Frankfurt, Germany on September 18th and travel to seven cities in September and October, including Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and four cities in the Netherlands.
Led by Chuck Davis, Hikvision’s Director of Cybersecurity for North America, “Cybersecurity and Video Surveillance: Presented by Hikvision" roadshows will consist of a 90-minute interactive education session about cybersecurity, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, myths about the video surveillance industry, and best practices to mitigate those threats and vulnerabilities.
"All Internet-connected devices have vulnerabilities. The important thing is that people are educated about cybersecurity best practices and that companies have a robust vulnerability management program. To effectively combat cybersecurity problems, we need to work together across the security industry," Davis said. "Cybersecurity is not the responsibility of manufacturers or integrators or end users, it's everyone's responsibility," he added.
In the past 18 months, Davis has also conducted workshops and led seminars in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South America.
Prior to joining Hikvision, Davis worked as an Executive Security Architect for IBM, managing the global malware defense and vulnerability management programs. Previously, he worked as the Manager of Global Cyber Defense for the Hershey Company. In addition to his work as a cybersecurity professional, Davis is an adjunct professor of Computer Science at the University of Denver, teaching master’s degree courses in Ethical Hacking and Computer Forensics.
