Intratuin Halsteren, one of the largest Intratuin locations in the Netherlands, sought to elevate its customer experience through innovative and creative communication strategies. They wanted to create a more inspiring and atmospheric environment for visitors, particularly during seasonal events such as ‘La Dolce Vita’ and ‘The Most Wonderful Time’ Christmas shopping experiences. To achieve this goal, the retail center deployed digital signage solutions from Hikvision, which enabled it to achieve its innovative communication objectives and enhance the overall customer experience.
Evolving customer engagement and atmosphere creation
At Intratuin Halsteren there is a restaurant 'De Eetbare Tuin', where customers can enjoy various delicacies. Twice a year, the center offers seasonal shopping experiences of ‘La Dolce Vita’ for the summer season and ‘The Most Wonderful Time’ Christmas shopping for the winter season. For these, they wanted to create a more special, inspiring, and atmospheric place for their visitors and customers. This was especially relevant for the busy winter season, when they like to attract and impress visitors with the ultimate Christmas experience.

"In our environment, digitalization is also very important, both offline - here in the shop, and online in our media and external channels with colleagues where we can set ourselves apart from the competition."
Leveraging Hikvision digital signage for immersive communication
Collaborating with BaseLink, a certified Gold Solution Partner of Hikvision who specialises in digital processes, Intratuin Halsteren embraced the opportunity to implement Hikvision’s digital signage solutions. The selection of Hikvision’s wall-mounted and floor-standing screens facilitated the creation of captivating communications throughout the facility. BaseLink was able to seamlessly integrate its Xibo content management software on the SOC (System on Chip) of the Hikvison digital signage screens. This integration is possible thanks to the open nature of the digital signage product platform and the support of the Hikvision product team.
"An advantage of Hikvision products is that there are integration possibilities with third parties. The digital signage screens have a built-in Android system on which we can easily integrate our own software." says Bas Beerlage, Managing Director of BaseLink. "For both indoor and outdoor screens, Hikvision products allow us to integrate with our content management system. Because the Hikvision displays are equipped with an Android player, we could choose to use Hikvision's software or install our own. This creates more flexibility. In addition, on the hardware side, less equipment is needed such as a separate player, and this saves finishing and installation time.”
By deploying digital signage solutions from Hikvision, Intratuin Halsteren has digitalized its offline communications to deliver better customer experience on site. Now they enjoy more convenience, communication efficiency, and flexibility to release and change digital advertisements. “Hikvison's digital signage solution allows our own marketing department to manage content internally. That means we can have more flexibility for content management and expand our content pool on our existing digital signage system” said Gerrie Veraart. “Besides, by advertising in a digital and environment-friendly way, we are able to reduce the use of paper and contribute to a greener society.”
Enhanced experience, collaboration, and future expansion
Looking ahead, Intratuin Halsteren and BaseLink expressed their enthusiasm for continued collaboration with Hikvision, with plans to expand the scope of digital signage deployment to include outdoor areas in addition to the existing indoor installations.
