Hikvision's multi-classroom learning technology opens a window for students in mountainous areas

Access to education still remains difficult for many children in the world today, especially in remote and hard-to-reach areas. Schools in marginalized regions routinely experience inadequate teaching resources and incomplete curriculum, resulting in a serious lack of high-quality education. Moreover, isolated teachers and students face even more challenges adapting to the digital age.

Under-resourced schools can be found in many places around the world, hindering the development of both students and teachers. Fortunately, new technologies are carrying superior educational resources further, providing students in secluded areas with more effective instruction while transforming the ways that teachers organize classes.

Multi-classroom learning brings hope and opportunities

Jiazishan Primary school is located in the hinterland of the Qinglong Mountain in north China's Hebei Province. It has only one classroom with 11 students and 1 teacher. Just like students beyond the mountains, the children of Jiazishan Primary school have a wide range of interests and are full of curiosity about the unknown. However, the lack of sufficient education resources may eclipse their dreams.

To help them better access the outside, fast-changing world and a future with more possibilities, in April 2021, Hikvision engineers introduced the multi-classroom learning solution to the school. With smart audio and video devices, interactive flat panel displays, and Hikvision's own ClassLink software, children in the remote classrooms are connected with students in cities through online live lessons, in which they can learn, draw, sing, and interact with their urban classmates. Real-time connectivity and engagement between different classrooms facilitates the sharing of educational resources, enabling a vastly increased breadth of opportunity.

  • With smart audio and video devices, interactive flat panel displays, and Hikvision's own ClassLink software, children in the remote classrooms are connected with students in cities through online live lessons, in which they can learn, draw, sing, and interact with their urban classmates.
  • There are models suitable for multiple settings and scenarios, including residential dwellings, small shops, restaurants, small factories, small farms, and other kinds of small and medium-sized operations

Not only for students, the multi-classroom learning solution also removes barriers for under-equipped teachers who are facing lack of education resources and training opportunities. The mountains reduce the possibilities for children and teachers, but the multi-classroom learning solution opened a window for them.

Hikvision is always on the way

In addition to Jiazishan Primary school, Hikvision has donated 16 interactive recording and broadcasting systems to 16 primary and secondary schools in Qinglong, connecting rural schools with urban schools through its intelligent and innovative products and services.

In 2021, Hikvision provided online classroom delivery plans for more than 100 schools in mountainous areas, benefiting over 20,000 teachers and students with 10,000 online courses and more. If each online course is attended by 20 students and 2 pages of a text book are taught per student on average, every year 400,000 pages of textbooks could be taught through online courses.

No matter how long the distance is, nothing can stop students' thirst for knowledge. The multi-classroom learning technology enables synchronized teaching and learning among multiple classrooms, extending the reach of quality educational opportunities. Hikvision will continue to strive to use advanced and thoughtful technologies to bridge the gap between teachers, students and knowledge.
