Church Security is Transformed Thanks to Hikvision's Enterprise Video System

Opendoor Church in Greenville, North Carolina, has undergone a significant security upgrade thanks to the expertise of local dealer Computer Geeks. Faced with challenges posed by a complex legacy system with low-quality imaging and high licensing fees, the church sought a comprehensive solution to accommodate its evolving services and expanding infrastructure.

Computer Geeks proposed and implemented a unified and scalable plan with Hikvision's cutting-edge technology. The legacy system, consisting of disparate cameras and multiple mobile apps for management, was replaced with a centralized enterprise video security system – HikCentral Professional. This management system streamlined operations and provided unified management and operational efficiency.

The new security system used Hikvision's AcuSense Cameras with ColorVu technology for full-color video day and night. These cameras use innovative image fusion technology, seamlessly combining images from two lenses for crystal clear shots and wide area coverage. Motion Detection 2.0 allows the cameras to detect human and vehicle movement with smart search functions, reducing the time spent on video playback.

A key element of the security overhaul is Hikvision's Multi-Modal, Touch-Free Biometrics Reader, featuring face and M1-card recognition. This reader, equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD touch screen, a 2 MP wide-angle lens, and two-way audio, integrates seamlessly with Opendoor Church's employee onboarding process.

The client loves the Hikvision touch-free access control readers because it integrated so well with their employee onboarding process. They would take an ID badge photo and can now upload that image into HikCentral for streamlined entry and exit management,” said Michael Bryan, IT Technician at Computer Geeks, in the Hikvision case study.

The multi-phase project began with securing Opendoor Church's primary Greenville location, including the sanctuary, administrative offices, and parking lots. HikCentral Professional provides Opendoor Church leadership and security management with enhanced visibility into remote operations at two other locations: a downtown worship center near East Carolina University and a daycare facility.

Opendoor Church even plans to add a k-8 section to the existing daycare and develop a senior living facility, a baseball field, and a community recreation center.
