Hikvision Appointed CVE CNA by Mitre Corporation for Its Vulnerability Management Program, New Video Now Online About the Designation

Hikvision was designated as a Common Vulnerability and Exposures (CVE) Numbering Authority (CNA), a CVE CNA, by Mitre Corporation for its vulnerability management program. This appointment enables organizations with the CVE CNA designation to assign CVE identifiers to their publicly disclosed vulnerabilities. CNAs are organizations from around the world that are authorized to assign CVE Entries to vulnerabilities affecting products within their distinct, agreed-upon scope, for inclusion in first-time public announcements of new vulnerabilities. Apart from Hikvision, there are more than 135 organizations from 23 countries participating as CNAs as of August 10, 2020.

Launched in 1999, CVE is now the industry standard for vulnerability and exposure identifiers. CVE Entries provide reference points for data exchange so that cybersecurity products and services can effectively reference and remediate vulnerabilities. Products and services compatible with CVE provide better coverage, easier interoperability, and enhanced security.
