Position summary
The Product Manager works closely with clients, Canadian and headquarter teams to develop suitable products for Canadian market, through conducting market research, generating product requirements, determining specifications, pricing, releasing schedule on product introduction, developing marketing strategies and manage the entire product life cycle.
Essential job functions
- According to the company's business strategy, through client visits, exhibitions, VOC, researches, third-party industry reports and marketing activities,
1) gather information on regional economic trends, industry trends, technological trends
2) obtain the purchase and usage preferences of users/customers in the local market
3) analyze market capacity, market stratification, competitions and market shares
- Obtain real-time market trends through multiple channels, provide timely and effective response strategies, and assist in the implementation
- Provide full cycle solutions to respond to product requirements and problems through market demand/problems collection, analysis and classifications
- Based on different factors, such as the market, the competition, customers and internal strategies, formulate regional price strategies; formulate price calculation methods (financial) for products with different market positioning
- Provide insight about discount strategies
- Referring to the Headquarters’ roadmap, formulate Canadian roadmap (3-month plan) and update periodically, according to the area’s product selection and release plan
- Select new products based on the product positioning, planning and promotions from HQ, taking into consideration of the characteristics of the local market and the existing product systems
- Apply for demos and test them
- Prepare supporting materials before product release (including Spec, QSG, CAD, UM, FW, FW release note), and arrange to upload to the company’s official website
- Working with the Marketing team, organize new product launch conferences and push and send announcements
- Forecast the first order of a new product, determine of inventory level maintenance rules and prepare for the stock, turnover, and inventory clearance
- For discontinued products, transmit the headquarters’ decision to the local teams and get prepared for phasing out of a product; and carry out inventory clearance of the discontinued products
- Organize and facilitate periodic new product training, from planning, designing to facilitation
- Provide SDS new product demo and gather feedback
- Design promotion strategy, prepare materials and execute the promotional activities
- Prepare promotional package for road shows and exhibitions
- Carry out monthly operational POS analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experiences in Product Management
- IP Camera and recorder closely related field is a must
- Bachelor degree in engineering, management, or equivalent; or college degree with comparable work experience
- Experience working and collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Support Resources and customers
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Hands on training skills
- Team player and self-motivated
- Fluent English in writing, reading and speaking; knowledge of Chinese language is a plus
- Based in Toronto, Ontario, or Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $70,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
