Position summary
The Account Manager - New Business - maintains and expands relationship with the customers and is responsible for achieving sales quota and assigned account objectives.
The Account Manager presents the products, services and solutions to assigned customers while managing the customer account planning cycle and ensuring that customers’ needs and expectations are met.
This Account Manager focuses on product lines such as Mobile Video Systems, DashCams, Board Worn Cameras and Parking Guidance Systems, Etc..
Essential job functions
- Present and sell company products, services, and solutions to current and potential Car Electronics distributors, Car Dealerships, Boat Dealerships and end-users
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific sales targets and opportunities
- Operate as the lead point of contact for sales matters between the company and the customers
- Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis
- Prepare sales presentations and proposals
- Assist with high severity issue escalations as needed
- Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up metrics
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship
- Follow up on new leads and referrals
- Develop and maintain product knowledge
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including sales call activity, closing, follow-up and adherence to goals
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate staff
- Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including System Design Specialist, technical support, RMA, accounting, logistics, product management, and R&D etc., in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows and telemarketing events
- Responsible for attaining sales goals within assigned sales territory
- Ability to develop, deliver and host regional product training presentations to large groups, webinar based and conference style presentations
- Maintain and input CRM data on a weekly basis
- Other sales related duties as assigned
Essential core competencies
- Experiences in a Sales Management role in automobile industry, an asset
- Ability to build and maintain long lasting relationships with clients
- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to the public
- Work requires significant travel to current and potential clients. A valid driver’s license and a valid passport for occasional air travel are required
- Must be willing and capable to work a flexible schedule and available for occasional overnight and week-end travels
- Proficient in Microsoft’s office programs: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
Education/Experience
- Minimum 3-year experience as an automotive sales or account manager
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related fields, preferred
- Audio & video knowledge and experience will be an asset
The incumbent can also be based in other cities, such as Toronto, ON.
