1. Our Commitment

HIKVISION is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. We are continuously working to improve the user experience for everyone and to comply with applicable accessibility standards in accordance with the European Accessibility Act and related national legislation.

2. Accessibility Standard

Our website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

We regularly assess our website using a combination of automated tools and manual reviews to identify and fix potential barriers. Identified issues are prioritized and addressed as part of our development lifecycle. A detailed accessibility compliance checklist is maintained internally and is available upon request.

3. Accessibility Status

Currently, we are aware of the following areas that may currently present accessibility issues:

Some images and icons do not have a text alternative, which means people using screen readers cannot access the information they convey.
On some pages, the color contrast between text and the background is too low, which can make the content difficult to read, especially for people with low vision.
Some interactive elements, like navigation menus and buttons, can be difficult to operate using only a keyboard.
Some online forms, data tables, and heading structures are not set up correctly, which can make it confusing for assistive technology to interpret the page and for users to navigate the content.
Some videos do not include captions or text alternatives, so people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or blind may not be able to access the information.
Some of our older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software.

We are actively working to address these as part of our continuous improvement efforts. As the law and accessibility standards continue to change and we strive to deliver the most up-to-date content online, please understand that our efforts to improve online accessibility are ongoing.

4. Current Accessibility Features

We are committed to making our website accessible to the widest possible audience. To enhance accessibility, our strategy includes:

Conformance with Standards: Our accessibility program is benchmarked against the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, with a target of A and AA conformance. We have completed a formal audit to guide our remediation efforts.

Content Structure: The website utilizes headings and landmarks as a fundamental method for structuring content. We are working to ensure these are implemented correctly across all pages to facilitate easier navigation for users of assistive technology.

Text Alternatives for Non-Text Content: The site is built with the capability to provide text alternatives for non-text content. We are currently undertaking a comprehensive review to ensure all meaningful images and icons have relevant, descriptive alt text.

Keyboard Support: The website’s underlying code is being updated to ensure all interactive elements, including links, buttons, and navigation menus, are operable through keyboard commands.

Clear and Consistent Design: Our brand style guide includes color palettes and design elements that support accessibility, such as a link color that meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio requirement. Our remediation plan includes applying these accessible designs consistently across the website.

5. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas may not fully meet WCAG standards due to:

Third-party content (e.g., embedded videos or external links).
Legacy systems under gradual improvement.

In order to maximize accessibility with our users, we are working with our vendors to encourage them to voluntarily comply with these standards.
