Hikvision Covers Work from Home Security Concerns in Blog Series
In its second annual report, cybersecurity company PC Matic looks at the relationship between cybersecurity and employees who are currently working from home. The survey results were covered in Security Sales & Integration and found that nearly 35 percent of Americans are still working from home, which exacerbates cybersecurity concerns, while ransomware attacks are on the rise.
Less than ten percent of respondents reported they were provided with an anti-virus software for their personal work devices. Meanwhile, there has been more than a 350 percent increase in ransomware attacks in the past year.
“Work from home is here to stay. As threat actors continue to target remote workers, and as the number of ransomware attacks continues to surge, it is imperative that employers take these threats seriously. The time is now to educate employees of the risks and to invest in proactive solutions designed to thwart these modern-day threats,” said Rob Cheng, founder of PC Matic, in the article.
Other findings from the survey include:
- 49 percent of workers reported that they receive no technical support from their employer.
- 61.5 percent of workers indicated their employer requires they use their personal devices for work purposes.
- 43 percent of workers responded that they use a VPN service while working from home.
