Hikvision On Vulnerabilities in IoT Devices, Healthcare
In “What are the top seven cybersecurity trends to be aware of in 2020?,” Security magazine outlines trends in vulnerabilities, hacks and other security concerns from the report, “Cybersecurity Trends for 2020” by technical service provider, TÜV Rheinland.
"Digitalization offers many advantages—but it is important that these systems and thus the people are safe from attacks,” said Petr Láhner, EVP for TÜV Rheinland, in the article.
Some of the trends included:
- Consumer smart devices are proliferating, making them a target of cybercriminals.
- Ownership of personal medical devices connected to the Internet, such as glucose monitors and pacemakers, has led to growth in software vulnerabilities.
- Vehicles and transportation are being targeting by cyber threat actors. “The disadvantage is the increasing number of vulnerabilities that attackers could exploit—broad cyberattacks targeting transport could affect not only the safety of individual road users, but could also lead to widespread disruption of traffic and urban safety …,” said the article.
