Establish Solid Security Protocols to Reduce Concerns in the Digital Age

Hikvision on Zero Trust to Reduce Security Concerns, Address Vulnerabilities

Innovations in technology coupled with remote work have changed the business and cybersecurity landscape. The Canadian Security magazine article, “Security is crucial for digital transformation and here’s why,” outlines ways to boost cybersecurity and reduce security concerns by establishing proper security protocols.

From the article: “As organizations continue to become increasingly dependent on digital tools, particularly applications, to engage with and deliver services to customers, large amounts of personal user data is stored within them. Because of this, enterprises become increasingly at risk to security incidents and cyber threats. This issue intensifies as more employees work from home and connect their computers and other company devices to the public internet.”

Building a Strong Security Foundation

To establish a strong security foundation for your organization, the article’s author recommends establishing a network that facilitates data protection. Establishing access for users only as needed for daily roles, having strong encryption, and managing endpoint security will all support this goal. Educating stakeholders on the value of protecting the network will enforce the company’s security policies that protect data.

As cloud usage soars, an approach to cybersecurity that encompasses cloud-hosted applications is critical. When IT security professionals can “identify vulnerabilities within the application during production, correlate vulnerabilities and breaches with business impact, and bring together IT and security teams to ensure a speedy resolution,” it will enhance the security of cloud-based applications.
