Hikvision Blog Series Covers COVID-19 Vulnerabilities, Hacks, Phishing & Cyberattacks
Security magazine’s story, “New research shows significant increase in phishing attacks since the pandemic began straining corporate IT security teams,” covers new findings of an uptick in phishing hacks and vulnerability exploits.
The story covers research from the “2020 Phishing Attack Landscape Report,” conducted by news provider, Cybersecurity Insiders. The survey included more than 300 IT security professionals, and asked for personalized input related to their pandemic cybersecurity experiences.
Fifty-three percent of those surveyed confirmed seeing a rise in phishing attacks since the pandemic began.
From the article: “The survey revealed that, on average, organizations are remediating 1,185 phishing attacks every month. Even employees who are confident in their phishing identification skills are more likely to slip up when faced with a massive amount of malicious emails, and the impact of a successful attack is felt both monetarily and through time consumed by threat remediation.”
Hikvision’s senior director of cybersecurity wrote about coronavirus-related vulnerabilities, hacks and cyberattacks earlier this year. We compiled our 4-part blog series into one article with additional links to cybersecurity trends related to COVID-19, as well as tips to stay safe.
Check the HikWire blog tomorrow when we’ll cover part two of the Security magazine article and offer cybersecurity tips from Hikvision.
