Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of innovative video security products and solutions, is pleased to announce that its DarkFighterX camera (iDS-2DF8225IH-A) has won a GIT Award 2018 in Category C – CCTV, Video Security.
The camera, which was launched earlier this year, is the next level of night video security and an upgrade of Hikvision’s DarkFighter technology. The technology can provide colourful, sharp images right down to the lowest light levels – in fact to 0.001 lux.
This takes colour to the max by taking inspiration from the way the human eye works. Eyes use different cells to collect colour and brightness information, which the brain then merges. The DarkFighterX cameras take information from an IR sensor (for brightness) and information from a visible light sensor (for colour) and combines them to provide the best of both worlds – one bright full-colour image.
The camera is at the cutting edge of security technology and is particularly useful in applications that require 24h full-colour images, like cities - streets, squares and parks; outdoors - rivers and forests; and transportation – railways and ports.
The awards are given by GIT Security, one of the widest read security magazines in Europe. Because winners are voted on, the award is independent, meaning that the product was chosen by readers of the magazine and website – in other words, industry players.
Derek Yang, Hikvision’s President, EU, said: “We are honoured to receive this award as we are constantly striving to develop products that are high quality and fit for purpose. This is especially relevant to us as it represents the voice of readers of GIT Security – our customers.”
