2. How We Use Your Personal Information
2.1 You are an instructor
If you are an instructor, we process your personal information as a controller for purpose of: (i) to provide HIKVISION Services described in Terms of Service and Instructor and Administrator Terms; (ii) in furtherance of our legitimate interests in operating HIKVISION Services and business; and (iii) with your consent. In some cases, we may process your information to comply with applicable law, legal process, or regulation, e.g. meeting a legal obligation, a court order, official request or other binding decision(s), such as sharing data with law enforcement or tax authorities; protect any person from death or serious bodily injury; or to carry out a task in the public interest.
(1) Account Registration and Login
We need to collect your personal information, including your name, phone number, and email address, when you register an instructor account on the Websites. After successful registration or logging in, you can selectively complete your basic personal information such as avatar, gender, and introduction.
By submitting afore said information, you agree that your name, introduction and work experience will be publicly viewable by others for purpose of courses introduction, trainees comment, interactive communication, etc.
(2) Deliver Teaching Content
You can upload the teaching videos and courseware on the management page and set up relevant training courses. You upload the teaching materials for the first time, we will apply for the permission to read the albums and files on your computer. We will collect your teaching materials and present them in the academy interface for your trainees to learn and use online.
(3) Ensure Services Provide Properly
During you use Services, to ensure that you can use our Websites functions properly, we will collect your device information and logs only based on the principle of maximum necessity and minimum scope. The details are as follows:
When users come to our Websites, we may track, collect, and aggregate information indicating, among other things, which pages of our Websites were visited, the order in which they were visited, when they were visited, and which hyperlinks were clicked. We also collect information from the URLs from which you linked to our Websites. Collecting such information may involve logging the IP address, operating system, and browser software used by each user of the Websites. We may be able to determine from an IP address a user's Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of their point of connectivity. Location data may be used to route your traffic to the nearest regional server to reduce latency and improve your experience. Depending on the IP address, we may display different Content on the Websites, for example, show the courses in different language, the name of trainer responsible for the area corresponding to your IP address, various online/offline activities information. We may also use cookies and web beacons when you visit our Websites.
We may also receive information from third party organizations with which we collaborate to provide Services. If we associate information from other sources with personal information that we collect through our Services, we will treat the combined information as personal information in accordance with this Statement.
2.2 You are an administrator
If you are an administrator, which means you are authorized or designated by organization user, who has the platform operation rights to manage the trainees/instructors, so that you can enable, manage, and access Services on behalf of organization users. Moreover, administrator is responsible for your users’ invitation, after-sales service, and complaints, etc. In such case, you are the controller of personal information collected from the invited individual users or the user who joins into your training program, including trainees, instructors, and any other personnel. Please ensure that you have the legal basis and/or obtained prior consent to process such kind of personal information.
We, as the processor, shall process your provided personal information in compliance with requirement of applicable laws and regulations.
(1) Account Registration and Login
When you create an administrator account, you need to provide us with the necessary information and/or document(s) to display your qualification to represent the organization, including NDA(non-disclosure agreement), trainer certificates. Besides, necessary personal information for the account registration are required, including name and email address.
(2) Account management
After your administer account is created, you can import necessary personal information of your organization, including name, phone number, email address, and department name, to form a member list. Also we provide invitation function, which makes it easy for you to invite members to join your training program. After members successfully join the program, you can edit and complete other information of your members, such as nickname, gender, employee ID, email address, position, and entry date. Not only trainees', but also instructors', trainers' and staffs' accounts can be managed in a unified manner under management webpage of administrator account.
You can also add trainees via “Certification > Invitation” on the management webpage.
You can view the learning reports of your trainee via “User > Trainee” on the management webpage. The information includes the name, account, department, learning length, courses studied, course completion, completion rate, exams taken, and exam pass rate, etc. At the same time, we provide the function of exporting data copies by one click.
3. Cookies and Other Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to keep records, store your preferences, improve our advertising, and collect information such as log data and device data. This allows us to better understand how you use HIKVISION Services and Products, diagnose and troubleshoot any problems you're having, and otherwise administer and improve HIKVISION Services and Products. For more information about cookies, please refer to our Cookie policy - Hikvision. We do not use cookies for any other purposes than those described in this Privacy Statement.
4. How We Share or Disclose Your Information
We do not sell any personal information to third parties. HIKVISION may share personal information with third parties on the basis of non-disclosure agreements. You hereby consent that we may disclose or share personal information to these third parties:
(1) We may share or disclose your personal information with HIKVISION affiliates, who are required to use that information in accordance with the purposes described in this Statement.
(2) We use service providers, vendors, technicians and other third-parties to help us process, store, and protect some of your data and otherwise help us administer the Websites and HIKVISION Services effectively, provide a better user experience, process your purchases, and increase the quality of HIKVISION Services. These third-parties are forbidden from using your personal information for non-HIKVISION purposes and are required to protect your information in accordance with this Statement and applicable laws.
(3) We may provide information to third-parties if we believe in good faith that we are required by mandatory law to do so. For example, to comply with legal orders and government requests; response to a subpoena, or similar legal process, including to law enforcement agencies, regulators, and courts; to protect the interests of HIKVISION Services users; to respond to claims that any content posted or displayed using HIKVISION Services violates the rights of third parties; in an emergency protect the health and safety of users of HIKVISION Services or the general public; or to enforce compliance with our Terms of Service and Instructor and Administrator Terms.
(4) We share information to protect our own legitimate business interests when we believe in good faith that we are required or permitted by law to do so. For example, we may share your personal information as needed to support auditing, compliance, and corporate governance functions; to combat fraud or criminal activity; to protect our rights or those of our affiliates and users; or as part of legal proceedings affecting HIKVISION.
(5) We may also disclose non-personal information (for example, aggregated or anonymized data) publicly or with third-parties, provided those data have been rendered anonymous in such a way that the data subject is no longer identifiable. For example, we may share non-personal information:
- for the same reasons we might share personal information;
- to better understand how our user interact with HIKVISION Services, in order to optimize your experience, improve our products, or provide better services;
- for our own research and data analytics; or
- to our vendors for their own analysis and research.
(6) If HIKVISION and/or all or part of our assets are ever sold or transferred, your personal information may be among the items sold or transferred. Under such circumstance, we will notify you by the email address specified in your account or by means of notice on website of (i) the identity and contact information of the purchaser or transferee, (ii) your right to revoke your consent to the provision of personal information, and (iii) the means by which you may revoke such consent.
5. How We Retain Your Personal Information
Your personal information is stored in Singapore.
HIKVISION generally stores your personal information on HIKVISION's servers which is established upon third-party servers, including Amazon Server and Internet Data Center, until you delete or edit it, or for as long as you remain a HIKVISION user in order to provide you with the most relevant offers. Please contact us using the contact details below if you would like more information about our retention policies.
We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purpose outlined in this Statement unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.
6. Securing Your Personal Information
HIKVISION values the security of your personal information. We have implemented commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security controls that are designed to safeguard personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage or loss. We conduct periodic reviews and assessments of the effectiveness of our security controls. We also organize security and privacy training courses to enhance employees’ awareness of protecting personal information. We will do our best to protect your personal information, but please note that no security measures are perfect.
Therefore, HIKVISION cannot guarantee that your personal information is under absolute security with the existing security technology. However, we will handle personal information breaches as required by applicable data protection law which includes, where required, notifying the breach to the relevant data protection supervisory authority and data subjects.

7. Your Rights
During your use of Services, you can access, rectify, delete your personal information, exercise the right to modify the scope of consent, cancel your account and any other legal rights.
Keeping your personal information current helps ensure that we provide you with the most relevant offers. You can access, update or delete your personal information via your account profile by selecting "Personal Information" button. We are ready to assist you in managing your subscriptions, deactivating your account, and removing your active profile and data. In addition, because of the way we maintain certain services, after you delete certain information, we may temporarily retain backup copies of such information before it is permanently deleted.
8. Your Choices
You also have certain rights around the use of your data, including the ability to opt out of promotional emails, cookies, and collection of your data by certain third parties. You can update or terminate your account from within our Services, and can also contact us for individual rights requests about your personal data.
We think that you benefit from a more personalized experience when we know more about you and your preferences. However, you can limit the information you provide to HIKVISION as well as the communications you receive from HIKVISION through your account preferences.
You may choose not to receive commercial e-mails from us by following the instructions contained in any of the commercial e-mails we send or by logging into your account and adjusting your e-mail preferences. Please note that even if you unsubscribe from commercial email messages, we may still e-mail you non-commercial e-mails related to your account and your transactions on HIKVISION Services.
9. Global Operations and Data Transfers
We transfer and process your information globally both in our own facilities and with service providers, or partners, regardless of where you use our services. As HIKVISION operates globally, we may transfer your personal information to our affiliates worldwide, when processing that information for the purposes described in this Statement. We shall do so in accordance with the applicable laws. In particular, we will ensure that all transfers will be in accordance with requirements under your applicable local data protection laws by putting in place appropriate safeguards. You hereby agree to transfer the data and you have the right to be informed of the appropriate safeguards taken by HIKVISION for this transfer of your personal information.
Currently we have data center in Singapore. The laws, regulations, and standards of the country in which your information is stored or processed may be different from those of your own country. You have understood that the risks under applicable data protection laws are different and we may transfer to and store your personal information at our overseas facilities. However, this does not change any of our commitments to safeguard your personal information in accordance with this Statement.

(1) EU/UK addendum
If you are located in the European Economic Area ("EEA") and UK, Please note,
- For purposes of EU data protection legislation, Hikvision Europe B.V., located at Dirk Storklaan 3, 2132 PX Hoofddorp, Netherlands ("HIKVISION Europe") acts as EU representative for personal information processing activities covered in this Statement. You may contact the EU representative by eLearninglobal@hikvision.com.
- You have a right to object to the processing of your personal information where the processing is carried out for our legitimate interests. Subject to limitations in applicable data protection laws, you have certain rights in respect to your personal information, such as a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling. In order to exercise your rights, please contact us. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at all times, free of charge. The withdrawal of your consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. However, your withdrawal may affect your continued use of HIKVISION Services. If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
- If you are located in the EEA/UK whenever HIKVISION transfers such personal information outside the EEA/UK, where required or appropriate, HIKVISION will put in place SCCs, to secure your personal information.
