Seamless security from front to back

 

Trends in small security projects have been moving towards converged solutions. Busy small businesses managers and homeowners appreciate a simple, seamless security system to cover their entire premises. For installers, this is good news – even more so if they can fulfil the projects using one end-to-end security system. Using a variety of Hikvision products, they can build a unified system controlled from one platform – and a synchronized mobile app. 

 

 

From the front door to the back

Most security solution start at the ‘front gate’ – in the case of most small businesses and homes – the front door. This is traditionally where most people find peace of mind – if the front door to their premises is secured. Various entry methods are available – for instance, an intercom door station can help monitor the entry point and allow users to grant remote access. There are also a number of ‘key’ options – a fob, a card or even facial recognition, depending on the customers needs.

 

But premises have other entry points too – like the back door and windows, among others. There are a number of different ways to maximize the monitoring of these different points – which lead to different kinds of device. For example, you may have a PIR Cam in a room pointing at a door. Or you would like to monitor the outside space with an External Motion Sensor.

 

Cameras are also key to any security solution, and Hikvision boasts a wide range of options to choose from. For example, in areas with very low light, or for use outside in the night, ColorVu technology allows cameras to see in full color, even in darkness. There’s also AcuSense technology – AI that helps cameras identify people or vehicles from other alerts, dramatically reducing false alarms. This is particularly useful for those that are connected to Alarm Receiving Centers, reducing that amount of unnecessary call outs. There are also cameras that have strobe lights and speakers attached, meaning intruders can be dissuaded from entering even before they break in.

 

 

Quick online configuration 

With all this, a solution could have a number of devices to make it complete.  Traditionally these could be sourced from a number of different suppliers, making integration tricky and time-consuming. It could also mean a number of different control platforms, further adding to installation work. Hikvision’s wide range of options means that installers can rest assured that, whatever they pick from the portfolio to deliver the exact need of their customer, it’ll be easy to install and configure, using the same platform.

 

The devices are essentially ‘plug-and-play’. Installers can simply take these products out of the box, turn them on, and log on to the internet to configure them. For intercom products, there’s even a 5-step configuration ‘wizard’.

 

Software experts designed the Hikvision platform with installers in mind and covers using, operating, and configuring the products. For example, products can be searched and activated via SADP; they will have same kind of web UI when accessing a built-in webserver; also they can be manageable via iVMS, HikCentral and Hik-Connect. Actually, the Android Intercom Tablet even has Hik-Connect built in for all-in-one device management. So, with just with a simple touch, the whole system can be managed by all-in-one indoor station.

 

 

Remote after care

There’s also the added value of the Hik-Partner Pro mobile app, which allows installers to keep an eye on the systems they install. This allows them to react if there are problems, with the customer’s approval, of course. When the customer provides them access, they can even troubleshoot and fix problems remotely. Around 50% of maintenance issues can currently be fixed remotely, and with more and more products being connected to the Hik-Partner Pro platform, this is set to rise quickly.

 

This could be a game-changer for installers companies, reducing the amount of travelling they need to do. This not only gives them more time for other tasks, but also reduces the cost of maintenance.

 

With a constant pressure to achieve more in a working day, busy installers will be able to quickly install and seamless security solution for SMB and residential customers. They will also be able to more easily provide efficient and cost-effective after-care. From installations in restaurants and bars, to those in shops or even homes, all of this will help to impress customers, and provide them peace of mind so they can focus on their own goals each day.
