Hikvision’s Promise to Reduce Our Carbon Footprint and Improve Sustainability
At Hikvision, we’re committed to improving the sustainability of our operations. To achieve this, our first step is to use biodegradable and recyclable materials for our packaging. By doing this, we aim to minimize waste and safeguard the environment for generations to come.
We're reducing our carbon footprint through green product development, eco-friendly manufacturing processes, and energy-efficient office park operations. Our sustainable packaging is continually refined to incorporate biodegradable materials while eliminating non-biodegradable materials, like PVC, that have a negative impact on the environment. Here are three ways we're making our packaging greener than traditional methods.
Our new eco-friendly packaging for Ultra-Series and Pro-Series cameras eliminates non-biodegradable plastic film and uses less ink on the outside of the boxes. This makes the packaging more biodegradable and recyclable than traditional practices.
To further reduce our environmental impact, we now use folded cardboard instead of non-biodegradable EPE foam to cushion products in the packaging for a variety of our product lines. This change provides the same level of protection during transportation while preventing the negative effects of using EPE foam.
Hikvision is using eco-friendly materials like biodegradable polylactic acid polyester, made from plant-based materials, instead of plastic for packaging our products. We also use paper rather than plastic for smaller packaging components, like envelopes.
