Zero Trust and Other Tools to Enhance Cybersecurity, Reduce Security Concerns in Organizations

Hikvision on Zero Trust to Reduce Vulnerabilities, Reduce Hacking Risk

Tools like Zero Trust can help organizations enhance cybersecurity and reduce concerns. Several cybersecurity insights to improve security are covered in the story by SecurityinfoWatch.com, “Key considerations for cybersecurity executives dealing with remote work.”

From the article: “Over the course of the past year, the world has witnessed an unprecedented reliance on technology. Digital transformation proliferated across industries, necessitated by the need to remain connected and maintain productivity during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, organizations saw a significant uptick in cyberthreats. Successful hacks like the SolarWinds incident have demonstrated the widespread ramifications of cyberattacks.”

The article’s author explains Zero Trust as a network approach that uses credentials for added security by granting access only to what a user needs based on their role or identity. The Zero Trust approach limits exposure and “prevents hackers from launching attacks through a network-zone or other broad access permissions.”

The author also suggests a shift toward the use of distributed ledger technology (DLT) because it’s scalable and becomes more cybersecure as it expands.
