Embracing openness: RIFL Biometrics and Hikvision's collaborative access control approach
RIFL Biometrics has partnered with Hikvision to integrate LockToo, its end-to-end security, access control and time & attendance solution, with Hikvision’s MinMoe face-recognition terminals. Hikvision spoke to Jamal Ben Bouazza, President and Managing Director at RIFL Biometrics about how the pre-integrated solution helps customers improve site security, optimize payroll operations, and deliver significant operating efficiencies. Here’s what he had to say.
Q: Tell us about your flagship LockToo system – what does it offer?
A: We take a lot of pride in our flagship LockToo system. LockToo helps our customers with their end-to-end needs for site security, access control, employee time tracking, and payroll management. In terms of site security, the solution uses advanced door monitoring and locking capabilities to prevent unauthorized access to premises and to protect corporate assets. Employee access permissions can be allocated for different areas at a site, which helps to protect sensitive assets and installations.
The suite also includes comprehensive time & attendance management features that can be integrated seamlessly with our customers’ payroll systems – allowing them to track hours worked for every employee, calculate payroll effectively, and generate accurate reports on employee attendance and performance.
Q: Why did RIFL decide to partner with Hikvision and, more specifically, to integrate LockToo into Hikvision’s MinMoe face recognition terminals?
A: Our decision was driven by a strong commitment to deliver shared-value benefits to our customers. By combining our expertise in access control and security solutions with Hikvision's advanced face recognition terminals, we knew we could offer a powerful and seamless experience for our customers. The integration with Hikvision MinMoe terminals brings two compelling benefits to our customers. First, it ensures smooth, seamless deployments of our security and time and attendance solutions. Customers can avoid hardware and software compatibility issues, project delays, and unexpected costs. The entire process becomes efficient and stress-free, allowing businesses to focus on what matters most.
Second, Hikvision’s facial recognition capabilities empower our customers to achieve an accurate view of employee working hours. This enables them to optimize payroll accuracy and efficiency, and eliminate time-consuming paper-based processes. This, in turn, delivers major savings of both time and costs for their administrative teams.
Q: Can you explain the process of integrating your software with Hikvision MinMoe terminals? Did Hikvision support you through the process?
A: It was a smooth journey for our R&D team to integrate our LockToo product with Hikvision’s access control terminals. The Hikvision Software Development Kit (SDK) allowed our team to create a seamless connection between the software solution and the Hikvision hardware, and the process turned out to be fast and efficient. Along the way, Hikvision provided us with the technical assistance we needed, and we are very pleased to have ongoing access to their technical knowledge and support.
Q: What does the future have in store in terms of your partnership with Hikvision?
A: Now that we have integrated LockToo into the Hikvision MinMoe terminals, we are planning to further embrace the openness of Hikvision’s technology and integrate with a wider range of Hikvision security devices to meet an even greater range of customer needs. We are also looking to make LockToo available in a growing number of languages to ensure we can reach the broadest possible customer base globally.
